The DrillGadget is a manual hand held drill bit sharpener. It's
parts are molded out of robust Polycarbonate, the same
material football helmets are made of. The precision rod is
stainless steel. It is pocket sized to stay with your drill bits.
The abrasive media is off the shelf Aluminum
Oxide or Silicon Carbide sandpaper. When
you run out, simply slit a strip 1 and 1/2 inches
wide off of a store bought sheet, roll it up and
insert it into the drill bit sharpener holder.
One strip lasts for hundreds of bit dressings.
No motors and no grinding wheels to replace. . This drill bit
sharpener is as convenient and as easy to use as all your
other basic hand tools. It's a neat and accurate way for
sharpening drill bits.
The gadget easily accommodates both
118 degree and 135 degree bits.
The chuck holds bits up to 1/2 inch diameter and down to
3/32 diameter. When using any drill bit sharpener, the
smaller bits are difficult to see, but with your reading glasses,
you can easily line the bits up correctly.
Use alternative abrasive sheets. A strip of
diamond impregnated sheet is shown double
back taped to the precision angled surface of
the paper holder. The small hand tool is
shown to the right holding a freshly dressed
cobalt drill bit, a challenge for any drill bit
sharpener.
